Dr. Sanjeev Gautam, received his B Sc (Physics honors, 1992) from Himachal Pradesh University, Shimla and M.Sc.(Physics honors, 1994) from Panjab University, Chandigarh, India. He did Ph.D. in Physics (condensed matter) from Panjab University, Chandigarh, India. He has also worked as programmer (2000-2007) in CMS-Grid computing (LHC, CERN). He has worked in Pohang Accelerator Laboratory (PAL), South Korea on NEXAFS (KIST-XAS) and EXAFS (KIST-PAL XRS) beamlines (2008-20014) as a postdoc/beamline scientist affiliated to Korea Institute of Research and Technology (KIST). He joined Panjab University as faculty in June 2014 in Dr. S S Bhatnagar University Institute of Chemical Engineering and Technology (SSB UICET). His current research fields are to develop new green methods of synthesizing and characterization of functional-materials through synchrotron radiation techniques. He has also quite a good experience in ion-beam modification of materials for different applications.
